EMERGENCY OXYGEN PROVIDER

DESCRIPTION

The PADI Emergency Oxygen Provider Course is designed to help individuals recognize a scuba diving illness treatable with emergency oxygen and respond with immediate action until the appropriate medical services are engaged.

Emergency oxygen is a first-aid treatment that is advised for a variety of scuba diving injuries, including decompression sickness, carbon monoxide poisoning, and lung over-expansion injuries. Knowing how and when to use emergency oxygen is an important ability to have as a diver. It means you are prepared to assist others whenever the occasion arises.  You’ll practice assembling and taking apart oxygen equipment so you can react quickly in an emergency.
You will learn from your instructor how to use a demand inhalator valve and a non-rebreather mask on a breathing diver. In order to revive a diver who isn’t breathing, you’ll also learn how to connect a rescue breathing mask to an oxygen unit.
